My name is Jacob Pillion and I am from a small town in Asheboro, North Carolina. My family is originally from Harlan, Kentucky; a small coal mining town is the southeastern part of the state. Due to the fact that coal just is not needed as much anymore, the coal mine's went down and took the economy with it in Harlan. With this, my mom and dad moved down here 20 some odd years ago and this has been my home ever since. Currently I am attending High Point University where I am majoring in chemistry with hopes of going to medical school to become a practicing general physician. My mom is a nurse here in High Point and that is where I get my exposure to the medical field.

 

All my life  I have been taught to help any and everyone I possibly could, so why not make a profession out of it? Breaking my wrists a total of three times each, and dislocating part of my collar bone has exposed me to some doctors who today I truly admire. Their first impressions on me have only inspired me and wanted me to be in their shoes that I can help those that are in mine. Another big passion of mine includes sports like: basketball, football, and baseball. Though I have lived my entire life here in NC, I am huge Kentucky Wildcat fan. ​
